Advice and ideas to help you with your wedding gift list

Wedding themes

Now the new year is well under way, I hope your wedding preparations are going to plan. It is likely that you will now be thinking about your wedding gift list and what you would like to include on it.

Every bride and groom has a wedding theme whether it is intentional or not. If you have chosen e-weddinglist.co.uk to use as your online wedding list, why not use the welcome page to tell your guests about the particular theme you have chosen? I have a friend who loves to see parcels under the tree at christmas all in matching paper….. I know when she got married it would have been her absolute heaven if all their wedding gifts could have been the same….

This may appear a little far fetched or over the top (there is only so much and bride and groom can arrange before a wedding!!). By using the welcome page you can introduce your theme and give your guests time to consider how they may like to include your theme in their gift or type of gift they choose, gift wrapping, their wedding outfit or a particular surprise for your big day.

Sometimes with large family events, there are questions that guests want to ask but feel awkward doing so. You may feel that your are stating the obvious, but a quick one-liner can be very useful and save alot of phone calls!

So if you have a theme for your wedding, whether it is simply a colour, your favourite pastime or charity based, pass it on to your guests. One wedding I heard about, the bride and groom asked for each guests to bring along a knitted square. These were all sewn together and the resulting blankets was sent abroad and distributed by oxfam.

By sharing something that is simple but very important to you can make sure your special day, is made that extra bit perfect.

Good luck
