Advice and ideas to help you with your wedding gift list

Wedding gift list ideas with a twist

Everyone wants to be able to give a wedding gift that is useful and provides a lasting memory from the guest who chose it. As we have regularly blogged, your wedding gift list is your opportunity to tell your guests the type of gifts you would like to receive. It is the opportunity to furnish or decorate your home with items that you dreamed of having (a toaster that doesn’t catapult the toast across the room or a kettle that doesn’t leak).

It is also an opportunity to give your guests a guide to what you would like, but for them to have a little wedding gift creativity. I think the best gifts are the ones that are things that you would not usually spend money on yourself and when someone else has treated you, it is all the more enjoyable!

The team at e-weddinglist have come up with a few gift that you could include in your wedding gift list, for alternative ideas for wedding gifts.

Travel vouchers – for a weekend away, whether its an overnight stay in a luxury hotel or a city break. A wonderful treat to look forward to after the wedding celebration.

If you are lucky enough to go on honeymoon, how about vouchers for an excursion whilst you are away?

Spa Break – a relaxing break in a spa, the opportunity to spend time together and be pampered.

Meal for two – whether it is at a top restaurant or returning to your wedding venue. A romantic treat perhaps for your first anniversary or half anniversary or just a treat on a free weekend.

Day trip/experience – something that you would not usually be able to afford to spend the money on or simply an experience that you would not have thought to try, it could be an off roading day or tea with the elephants at the zoo.

Wine Club membership – whether its for a regular delivery of wine, a bottle of champagne to share in your first year of marriage or for wine to be laid down for a later anniversary.

A Gardener/Cleaner/Ironing - a decadant treat, even just for a short period, to have someone to come in and do the chore you most dislike, or simply struggle to find time to do.

A Little Luxury -bed linen – you spend a third of your life asleep, so why not be wrapped in luxury. High quality bed linen with an obscenely high thread count, offer comfort and luxury, but are still useful.

Theatre Vouchers – to see your favourite show or concert.

Magazine Subscription – whether you are embarking on a new hobby together or a major project.

Membership Subscription – if you want to spend your weekends visiting places of interest or to be able to spend time together keeping fit at your local gym (or an upgrade on your existing membership for a bit of luxury).
