Advice and ideas to help you with your wedding gift list

Cookware Buying Guide – when preparing your wedding gift list

When choosing which cookware to ask for on your wedding gift list, it is useful to consider whether it is suitable for the type of cooker you have. It may not be something you would have considered and could be an unpleasant surprise when you come to use them!

I tend to buy products that I like the look of, then consider if they are suitable for the purpose. When my husband and I were looking for a coffee machine, we chose the product primarily on how it would look in our kitchen, rather than did it make the best coffee.

When we got married, we asked for a frying pan on our wedding gift list (quite literally as descriptive as that). We had a ceramic hob, so the rather swish and clearly expensive copper based frying pan that we received, burnt everything!

Have a look at the cookware buying guide johnlewis.com/Magazine/Feature.aspx?Id=11, which details the types of cookware and its suitability for the different types of hobs. It is well worth a look, as it clearly lists the different types of cookware with a short description and its suitability for different cooking situations. The added benefit of the article is that they have reviewed all types of cookware, even items that they do not sell.

The team at e-weddinglist are continually review articles and ideas that will be of use to you when you are compiling your wedding gift list. We hope that this is of use to you!
